DUA for New Clothes – Recite This Before Wearing

The Sunnah Dua for Wearing New Clothes When wearing new clothes, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to say the following supplication: اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيهِ، أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَهُ وَخَيْرَ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهُ “O Allah, all praise is for You. You have clothed me with this. I ask You for its goodness and the goodness for which it was made, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil for which it was made.” (Sunan Abu Dawood 4020, Tirmidhi 1767) Benefits of This Dua: ✔ Expresses gratitude to Allah for providing clothing✔ Seeks protection from arrogance and pride✔ Asks for blessings in wearing the new clothes✔ Reminds us that all provisions come from Allah 5 Quranic Verses About Clothing and Gratitude Quranic Verse #1 – Clothing as a Blessing from Allah يَا بَنِي آدَمَ قَدْ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكُمْ لِبَاسًا يُوَارِي سَوْآتِكُمْ وَرِيشًا ۖ وَلِبَاسُ التَّقْوَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ مِنْ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَذَّكَّرُونَ “O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to cover your shame and as an adornment. But the clothing of righteousness – that is best. This is from the signs of Allah so that they may remember.” (Surah Al-A’raf 7:26) ✔ This verse teaches that clothing is both a physical necessity and a spiritual reminder to adopt righteousness. Quranic Verse #2 – Thanking Allah for His Provisions وَاشْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ “And be grateful for the favor of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.” (Surah An-Nahl 16:114) ✔ This verse emphasizes gratitude for all blessings, including clothing, as a sign of faith in Allah. Quranic Verse #3 – The Purpose of Clothing in Islam وَاللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّمَّا خَلَقَ ظِلَٰلًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ أَكْنَـٰنًۭا وَجَعَلَ لَكُمْ سَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُمُ ٱلْحَرَّ وَسَرَٰبِيلَ تَقِيكُم بَأْسَكُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ يُتِمُّ نِعْمَتَهُۥ عَلَيْكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْلِمُونَ “And Allah has made for you, from that which He has created, shade and has made for you shelters in the mountains and has made for you garments that protect you from the heat and garments that protect you from your [enemy in] battle. Thus does He complete His favor upon you that you might submit to Him.” (Surah An-Nahl 16:81) ✔ This verse highlights that clothing is a gift from Allah for protection, comfort, and dignity. Quranic Verse #4 – The Modesty of Clothing وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their chastity and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears there of.” (Surah An-Nur 24:31) ✔ Islam encourages modesty in dressing as part of our faith. Quranic Verse #5 – Avoiding Arrogance in Clothing وَلَا تَمْشِ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ مَرَحًۭا ۖ إِنَّكَ لَن تَخْرِقَ ٱلْأَرْضَ وَلَن تَبْلُغَ ٱلْجِبَالَ طُولًۭا “And do not walk upon the earth arrogantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height.” (Surah Al-Isra 17:37) ✔ Clothing should not make us arrogant; instead, it should remind us to be humble before Allah. DUA for Rizq – Increase Your Halal Earnings & Blessings

In Islam, Rizq (sustenance) is not just about wealth—it includes health, happiness, family, knowledge, and all blessings from Allah. Allah is Ar-Razzaq (The Ultimate Provider) and has guaranteed Rizq for all His creation. However, some people may face financial struggles and seek Allah’s guidance and blessings to increase their sustenance. Making a sincere DUA for Rizq is one of the best ways to seek Allah’s help in increasing provisions and attaining His divine blessings. Islam teaches that Dua (supplication), good deeds, and trust in Allah can open the doors of barakah (blessings) in one’s sustenance. This article explores: Through Quranic guidance, Prophetic Duas, and righteous actions, we can increase our blessings and prosperity. Understanding Rizq in Islam What is Rizq? Rizq means everything Allah provides, including:  ✔ Wealth and financial stability ✔ Good health and well-being ✔ Family, children, and loved ones ✔ Knowledge, wisdom, and spirituality ✔ Peace, happiness, and satisfaction Islam teaches that our Rizq is already written, but through Dua, hard work, and righteous deeds, we can increase its barakah. Hadith on Rizq and Tawakkul (Trust in Allah) The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: “If you were to rely upon Allah with reliance due to Him, He would provide for you just as He provides for the birds. They go out in the morning with empty stomachs and return full.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2344) This Hadith emphasizes Tawakkul (trust in Allah). Just as birds leave their nests daily in search of food, we must work hard, seek Halal earnings, and trust in Allah to provide for us. 5 Quranic Verses for Rizq and Barakah Quranic Verse #1 – Allah is The Sole Provider إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ ٥٨ “Indeed, Allah is the [sole] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.” (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:58) ✔ Allah alone controls Rizq. We should turn to Him in Dua and seek sustenance through Halal means. Quranic Verse #2 – Rizq Comes From Taqwa (Piety) وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُۥ مَخْرَجًۭا ۝ وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَحْتَسِبُ “And whoever fears Allah, He will make a way out for him and provide for him from where he does not expect.” (Surah At-Talaq 65:2-3) ✔ Being mindful of Allah (Taqwa) increases Rizq and removes financial difficulties. Quranic Verse #3 – Rizq Increases with Gratitude لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ “If you are grateful, I will surely increase you (in blessings).” (Surah Ibrahim 14:7) ✔ Showing gratitude through prayers and acts of charity increases blessings in Rizq. Quranic Verse #4 – Seeking Forgiveness Brings Rizq فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًۭا ۝ يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًۭا ۝ وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍۢ وَبَنِينَ “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; indeed, He is Most Forgiving. He will send down rain upon you in abundance and increase you in wealth and children.” (Surah Nuh 71:10-12) ✔ Istighfar (seeking forgiveness) opens the doors of sustenance, wealth, and prosperity. Quranic Verse #5 – Rizq Comes from Hard Work وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ “And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives.” (Surah An-Najm 53:39) ✔ Effort and hard work are necessary to earn Halal Rizq, and Allah blesses those who strive. Authentic Duas for Increasing Rizq 1. The Dua for Halal Sustenance اللهم اكفني بحلالك عن حرامك وأغنني بفضلك عمن سواك “O Allah, suffice me with what You have made Halal so that I do not need what is Haram, and make me independent by Your bounty from everyone besides You.” (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563) ✔ Seeking Halal income is key to receiving blessings. 2. The Dua of Prophet Musa (AS) for Provision رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ “My Lord, indeed I am in need of whatever good You send down to me.” (Surah Al-Qasas 28:24) ✔ Reciting this Dua with sincerity attracts Rizq and blessings.
