🌿 The Islamic Perspective on Sickness
1. Sickness is a Test and a Source of Reward
Sickness is not a punishment but a test and an opportunity for sins to be forgiven. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
“No Muslim is afflicted with pain, illness, anxiety, grief, or even a thorn pricking him, but Allah expiates his sins because of it.”
(Sahih Bukhari 5641, Sahih Muslim 2573)
📖 Quranic Verse #1 – Sickness as a Test
وَلَنَبْلُوَنَّكُم بِشَيْءٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْخَوْفِ وَٱلْجُوعِ وَنَقْصٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْأَمْوَٰلِ وَٱلْأَنفُسِ وَٱلثَّمَرَٰتِ ۗ وَبَشِّرِ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ

1. Dua for Immediate Relief from Illness
The Prophet ﷺ used to recite this supplication when feeling unwell:
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ النَّاسِ أَذْهِبِ البَأْسَ، اشْفِ أَنْتَ الشَّافِي، لاَ شِفَاءَ إِلاَّ شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لاَ يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
